The name of this site has been inspired by the Queen of the Dolomites, the Marmolada, that is the highest mountain-group within the Dolomites with the 3.343mt high Punta Penia. The holiday region of the Marmolada, the Pettorina valley, is a very popular destination of excursionists and cycling fans in summer, that are fascinated by the Dolomites passes, who are an important part of the history of the famous Giro d'Italia. Starting at the village Malga Ciapela (1.450 meters above sea level) the in 3 sections divided cable car of the Marmolada takes tourists to Punta Rocca.
